The Secret to Capturing Pregnant Portraits?
I believe that a good people photographer may only need 10% technical photographic skills but must have 90% great people skills.
The ability to walk in a room and make people feel comfortable and relaxed is a skill I don’t remember learning at the Queensland College of Art – Griffith University. No I learnt it in life.
The ability to help your client relax while they are in front of the camera, is essential in all people photography and especially important in capturing portraits of pregnant woman.
With the permission of one of my recent clients (thanks Danielle), here are two of my favourite photographs captured from her pregnant portrait photography session with me.
The portraits were taken in the privacy of Danielle’s home, with mostly natural light used – just a hint of fill flash.
I love the feeling of these photographs.
