Christmas Corporate Function MC – only in Australia?

I love Australia.  I love our culture, our way of life and most of all our humour.  Here is one example of why I love Australia.

Recently I had the pleasure in photographing a very large Christmas corporate function in Sydney, for over 700 people.  The master of ceremonies was one of my favourite Australian comedians, Paul McDermott from the current TV show ‘Good news week’.

It was rather difficult trying to remain professional while Paul was on stage.  The temptation to just ‘crack up’ and roll around laughing, made my photographic job interesting.

Towards the end of the Christmas corporate function, Paul came back to the stage (after lunch) with a Christmas cracker hat on his head.  It was at this point I thought to myself  “only in Australia would you find a MC at a corporate function wearing a Christmas cracker hat”.

I love your work Paul!

Greeting Cards & Gifts Sent The Easy Way!

Here is a refresher on the Greeting Cards:

About two years ago, I was shown how easy it was to use a new website to create physical greeting cards using my own computer, photographs and handwriting.  I had so much fun creating greeting cards for my clients, family and friends that I wanted to not just use the website but also show others how they can do it too.

Here is an update:

Currently I am in the USA for the Greeting Cards.  I have had a blast meeting people from all over the world that are using this website to create their personal, ‘physical’ greeting cards (not those tacky e-cards).  The company made some exciting announcements as to new features the website will soon have.

Interested?

Don’t be shy, just send me an email or give me a call.  I would love to show you  the website and create a free gift account for you so you can have a play with the website and send some free cards.  All I ask is for you to have fun and maybe give me some feedback on your thoughts (if you so feel inclined).

Unique function venue in the Hunter Valley?

Last week I was photographing at the Hunter Valley and the event venue really impressed me   (after photographing for 20+ years it takes a lot for a function venue to impress me).

What was the name of this venue?

Margan Estate Vineyard at Broke (Hunter Valley).

What was it that impressed me?

Even though Margan Esatate Vineyard has won many awards and the food was wonderful (yes I got feed on this job – yay!), what impressed me was that it was possible to have 100 guests all on the same table –  King Henry the 8th style!  I am really struggling to think of another venue within Sydney or the Hunter Valley which can accommodate this.

Set amongst their wine barrels, was one huge table fit for a King & Queen and all their guests.

I wanted to share this venue with you and hence I have included some of the photographs I captured.

Personally I would like to return to Margan (when not working) to enjoy the Vineyards and Estate further.

Corporate photography?? in Sydney?

I have just created a new corporate photography multimedia slide show which will give you an idea of what corporate photography is.  Corporate photography?  Functions, events, conferences, seminars, team group shots, staff portraits, publicity, head shots…………and many other reasons to book a professional corporate photographer.

Cover Photograph for Your Investment Property Magazine

Cherie Barber - Australia's Renovating Queen

This month’s edition of ‘Your Investment Property’ magazine, features my photograph of  ‘Renovating Queen’, Cherie Barber.  The photograph on the front cover and inside story, were captured last month on one of Cherie’s actual building sites in Sydney.

This was a fun commercial portrait shoot and Cherie was great to work with.  Both Cherie and myself were really happy with the photographs at the end of the day (however we both thought the magazine re-toucher, went overboard with the air brushing).

You can find Cherie on Facebook Click Here

What’s new in family portrait photography?

With the latest Canon SLR digital cameras that also have high-definition video footage capture ability, the world of photography and videography is combining like never before.

Just for the record it is important to say that I am not a videographer nor will I be advertising video coverage for weddings, 21st parties or Bar Mitzvahs any time soon.

I am a ‘stills’ photographer, however what I am really enjoying doing currently is capturing ‘snippets’ of video footage that often no one is aware is being taken.  Then later adding the footage and fusing it together with my photographs to create gorgeous and very intimate family portrait multimedia sensations.

The results I think is just beautiful.

Enjoy.

What would it be like to be famous?

Have you ever wanted to know what it would be like to be famous?

Even though I much prefer being behind the camera than in front, I thought I would investigate this question, photographically.

By this I mean, let’s take a portrait of myself (Sarhn McArthur) and see what is photographically possible, to make it look as if I was extremely famous world wide.  Just for fun…………….let’s see what it would be like.  🙂

Welcome

I am currently working very hard to finalise my ‘Sarhn McArthur’ blog/website.  For the time being both this blog/website and my old website are both live.

Each time you check back you will notice this blog/website will have more photographs, videos, pages, links.  I will keep changing and tweaking the design until I am happy with how everything looks (still have a lot to do).

Thanks for your patience and I hope you enjoy having a browse.

Sarhn

P.S. Leave me a comment………go on tell me what you really think!
